CHRISTMAS

In around 1910, A.H. Newman wrote about Christmas: "Although some of our denominations hold services on that day, the vast majority of Protestants do not attend, most of our denominations keep their churches closed." Another source says: "The English Puritans tried to do away with the celebration of Christmas altogether in the course of the seventeenth century ... under the Puritan influence in early America, especially in New England, Christmas was a regular workday until the middle of the nineteenth century."

To write against the celebration of Christmas is to waste time for most of the present generation of Protestants. In fact there is very little that the Protestants protest against nowadays. One goes to a Protestant church, at this time of the year, rather to admire all the paraphernalia and decorations that adorn our temples. Spare a thought for the thousands of offering money wasted and thrown out on these annual arrangements. As if the tithe and offering were to be spoiled irresponsibly in that manner. As Christmas comes once a year, our other side that compromises with heresy, error and ecumenism shows its ugly face. Many of us will not give a thought to the fact that the world celebrates the birth of Him whom it rejects as the Saviour!

Indeed, the world seems interested in associating the birth of Jesus with a pagan feast. That is, to exalt the harmony of a truly Israelite family - Mary and Joseph - who, in their simplicity of spirit, were obeying the commandment of God.

Yet the world denies that it is through this family and this babe that SALVATION comes to man. It seems that they need Jesus as "The Child" (a Catholic icon!) but want nothing to do with CHRIST THE SAVIOUR. Heresy shows its ugly face.

The sad thing is that Christians make a pact with this in more ways than one. They mix good with evil. Their spiritual decadence re-appears strongly at this time. If they could only see how far they were from the real SPIRIT OF CHRIST, when He said, I AM NOT FROM THIS WORLD, Christmas would be history for them. What right does the world have to take this precious name and use it in a blasphemous, pagan and idolatrous way when it rejects the Lord’s sacrifice on the cross of Calvary? Surely, they are talking about another Jesus made to satisfy the corrupt and sinful nature of man. The real Saviour is mocked and blasphemed.

Stop celebrating the pagan Christmas!

An angel appeared to Mary to announce the fulfillment of the promise to Isaiah - that the Saviour would be born soon to save His people from their sins.

Which sins?

The sins that another angel pointed out to Israel with the question "Why have ye done this?" (Judges 2:2). The sin was that Israel did not destroy entirely the Canaanites and their altars! The angel said, "they shall be as thorns in your sides, and their gods shall be a snare unto you" (verse 3). That generation of Israelites, still under the influence and leadership of Joshua, lifted up their voices and wept in repentance and served the Lord until they died. The next generation "after them, who knew not the LORD ... did evil in the sight of the LORD and served Baalim ... and followed other gods, of the gods of the people who were round and about them and bowed themselves unto them, and provoked the Lord to anger. And they forsook the LORD, and served Baal and Ashtaroth.", (verses 11 to 13).

Today, in Christian congregations, it is as if "Joshua" has gone a long time ago! For it is common to observe the inclination they have to go back to serve the gods of the Canaanites. Christmas is a time to raise altars to the canaanites’ gods, in a modern fashion. Christians are so Christmas enslaved that if there would not be a meeting on the 25th they would remove the minister! People are so canaanitized that it would be an insult not to perform the Christmas service!

If we believe that God designs things in a perfect way, why didn’t He clearly establish the date of His Son’s birth? The Holy Spirit would be well capable of that. It was not important: men would celebrate the creature and forget the Creator. Only mystics, with their propensity for the occult, superstition and witchcraft, would grant some merit in celebrating the birth of Jesus. Read a detailed description of the Christmas feast in a good encyclopedia to find about all the superstition attached to it. A good way to start is to refer to the way the pope’s religion follows the Canaanites’ rituals.

"And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel ... the hand of the LORD was against them for evil ... and they were greatly distressed." (verses 14 and 15).

That, because God wanted a nation of true worshippers, those who do not bend the knee to Baal, a nation of priests and saints. But, no. Soon the nation allowed the Canaanites to live among them and corruption was quick to appear. Not the other way around - the Canaanites allowing Israel in. That would not be tolerated. Israel would be completely annihilated and utterly destroyed by them. The same with modern Protestant Church. It raises their altars and worships their gods, Christmas being one of them!

Be careful, for there’s no biblical ground to erect such an altar! On the contrary - separation from idols is the commandment.

Some argue that celebrating pagan Christmas attracts others to the church. It is possible. In the same way the Canaanites attracted Israelites to their pagan festivities when they sacrificed their children to Moloch! We can attract people to the church but not to Christ. Not with a ceremony that honours the very devil! Some of these "attracted" people end up as unsaved leaders, ready to discredit the word of God! Obviously the festivity is not in the horrendous coarse way the Canaanites did it. It is not the mechanics of the ceremony, it is the spirit.

The "Spirit of Christmas", as ministers write, with a capital "S", is another spirit, isn’t it?

They are prepared to "worship" Baal at least once a year, partaking in this "Spirit" of unrighteousness and delusion. It is a way of ministers making friendship with paganistic Roman tradition, which elevates superstition above Scripture. Once Christmas is gone for another year, church ministers go back to declare that the church has a canon in Scripture, solid principles, uncompromising standards.

Oh, the hypocrites!

They will emphasize Scripture as infallible and God as perfect. Let another year come, and Scripture is no longer that important and God is no longer that perfect. He quickly forgets that the Old Book says nothing about celebrating Jesus’ birth. It is idolatry! Scripture applies only where it describes the Nativity story. The rest comes via Rome and its manmade Tradition.

That is the way many "Christmas Spirit" filled church ministers have corrupted the Church to its core: Cash, in its millions, from the offering, simply disappear in erecting altars to the gods of the Canaanites. Offering money dedicated to IDOLS is ROBBERY gross SIN!

Ministers are not happy with the simplicity of the Gospel. They like to identify with paganism. Their spiritual life is not complete unless they worship the baby Jesus, unhappy with the simplicity of worshipping the resurrected Christ and the wonderful hope of His coming kingdom, as He promised. Their carnality wants more. They tell others that Jesus was born of the flesh, lived like a mortal and died like a criminal for the sins of man who He loved and wanted to rescue from eternal perdition; they tell others to fill their horizons with the promise of a glorious future with no more tears and suffering; they tell others many more things learned from the Bible. But, all that is not enough. Extras, like the inventions and fantasies of the pope are necessary: the truth in favour of a lie, like the Israelites of old.

Partaking of the lie of the devil and teaching that to children.

Col 2:8 is not paid attention to: "Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world and not of Christ". Once a year this verse and many other commandments are simply ignored. What are these rudiments of the world? Lusting for the appetites of the flesh, lusting for religious superstition, for doctrines of demons. Christmas is an occasion when men "who are dead in trespasses and sins (Eph 2:1), in which in times past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, and the spirit that now worketh in the sons of disobedience" want to celebrate the arrival on earth of Him whom they will utterly reject when He dies on the cross for them!

That "spirit" of the verse is the "Spirit" the minister writes about!!

The world not only rejects the Saviour Christ but even curses and blasphemes Him on the cross! Christmas suits those children of the wrath of God. It suits them with their parties, their drunkenness, their hatred, including many church ministers with that special "Spirit"! The leadership of the apostate Protestant Church (most of the leaders we know!), are men who "did not hear Moses speaking on the plains of Moab" (second generation), and so are to blame for this compromising with the pope’s pagan celebrations.

Those are the ones who keep the church doors open for the observance of "days and months and times and years" (Gal 4:10). Paul is sad because, although the Galatians were ready to donate their own eyes to help him in his infirmity, they made him think that his labour with them had been in vain.

That’s why he says, "Brethren, I beseech you, BE AS I AM."

"Did you see me celebrating this or that day? Did I write you a letter wishing you HAPPY CHRISTMAS and a prosperous new year? Did I send you a present to adorn your Christmas tree?"

"For the customs of the peoples are vain; for one cutteth a tree out of the forest ... They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not." Jer 10:4).

"BE AS I AM" - Galatians 4:12. Not like the pagans. We are free from bondage, we belong to the light - Ephesians 5:8! No longer Canaanites. Every day waiting for the Lord's Return!
